My Story
My name is Ora Kaufman, and I am the founder and director of the Kaufman LTS- School of Languages.
I reside in Washington D.C Metro area. I have graduated from Haifa University, Israel with a Bachelor’s degree in English Language and Literature and History of Arts.
I specialize in second language acquisition using various approaches and teaching techniques. Through out my career I have been teaching children and adults in multiple class settings. My knowledge and expertise in teaching allowed me to develop a curriculum that brings high rates of success. I am excited and proud to see how successful children become successful adults. I work with diplomats, linguists and people who need language to perform job related tasks, and excited to see their professional growth. During the course of my career, I have received several professional awards for my work
My Teaching philosophy
I believe that it is very important to concentrate on the specific needs of the learners in the classroom. It is crucial to set realistic goals and prepare well balanced instruction plan to achieve them. Language is learned in context which is relevant to the students. Each student is unique in his way of learning and thinking and I always try my best to answer his/her specific needs. All students are assessed on a regular basis to monitor their progress. I bring a lot of culture into my classroom as I believe in a strong connection between the language and the culture. I think that a good teacher is a good learner. I always learn from my students and my experiences with them.
